General Investigations Unit

The General Investigations Unit is one aspect of the La Habra Police Department's Investigations Bureau. Detectives, within this unit, are trained to investigate a wide range of crimes, including homicide, robbery, assaults, sex crimes, domestic violence, theft, burglary, fraud, identity theft, vandalism, and juvenile offenses.

These detectives spend many hours following up on information, pursuing leads, conducting interviews, and solving crimes. They file cases against criminals and work in close cooperation with the District Attorney's Office for successful prosecution. While assigned to the General Investigation Unit, detectives receive advanced training respective to their individual case assignments.

Many of the detectives assigned to General Investigations are assigned additional duties such as Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center, grant monitoring, and Terrorist Liaison Officer.
