The La Habra Community Center is open on Thursdays for several senior activities, including a Tai Chi Chuan class, an art class and a movie. The Tai Chi Chuan class is held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., and the art class meets from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The movie starts at 11:30 a.m. and includes free popcorn. Free coffee is available throughout the activities. In order to be sure that the art instructor has enough supplies and we set enough places for viewing the movie, we ask that you contact the Community Center to let us know if you plan to attend. Participants are free to attend some or all of the activities. This week's movie is "The Peanut Butter Falcon", a heartfelt comedy about a young man with Downs syndrome who runs away from the senior center where he lives to fulfill his dream to become a wrestler, and the adventures he has with another young man who is also on the run and the senior center social worker who has to find them.
These activities will continue on all Thursdays in May. Please contact the Community Center for information about the movies to be shown on May 20th & 27th.
