This year, our traditional Veterans Day celebration will consist of a virtual event that will be streamed through the LHRecreation Facebook page. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 11th at 11 am. We have taped the singing of the national anthem, posting of the colors and will have a live broadcast of the prayer, a message from the Mayor, and a message from commander of American Legion Post 267. We will have taped messages from Congressman Gil Cisneros, Supervisor Doug Chaffee, and District Attorney Todd Spitzer. There will be a musical tribute to local veterans, and the event will end with a taped version of the national anthem and “God Bless the USA” sung by firefighter Humberto Argucia. The event will last about 30 minutes. The live portion will be held at the steps of City Hall, with the City Council and 30 members of La Habra Post 267 socially distanced. City Council should plan to arrive by 10:4 5am to be seated prior to the start. Mayor Tom Beamish, please arrive by 10: so we can mic you up for your presentation.
