The Community Services Department's Recreation Division has partnered with Jump Start Sports to offer two new Winter Youth Volleyball Programs, one for kids in grades one through six; the other for kids in grades seven and eight. Both programs will meet for six weeks on Saturdays at the Boys & Girls Club gym, beginning on February 4th and ending on March 18th (no class on March 11th); the fee is $110 per child and includes a team shirt, professionally trained coach, and cinch bag.
The La Habra Jump Start Volleyball Program is open to children in grades one through six, from beginners to players with experience. Participants will explore the fundamentals of volleyball through action packed sessions designed to teach basic skills and strategies, as well as play games during each 75-minute class meeting. Knee pads are recommended, but not required.
The La Habra Youth Volleyball League is open to youth in grades seven and eight, from beginners to players with experience. All fundamentals of volleyball will be taught, including basic skills and strategies, and games will be played during the each 90-minute class meeting. The goal is for participants to prepare and perfect skills prior to trying out for their middle school volleyball teams in the fall. Knee pads are recommended, but not required.
Please note that all activities will take place during class meeting times; there are no separate practice or game times.
