The La Habra Police Communications Center is the primary answering point for all emergency and non-emergency telephone calls. As such, the Center provides a vital conduit for contact between the public and the police.The men and women who staff the Center, 24 hours a day, receive specialized training to handle emergency calls and incidents. This training assists them in making critical decisions, in the early seconds of each call, to determine what instructions callers should receive and how police officers should respond. These Communications operators not only answer calls to the police emergency and business lines, but they also answer a wide variety of questions and refer callers to other departments and agencies, as needed.
