The event is open to La Habra residents only and only those with appointments will be accepted. The residential hazardous waste event is expected to attract over 500 residents. Residents are encouraged to make an appointment for the event by calling 562-968-1755.
Items for shredding will be accepted for FREE. Shred only customers still need to make an appointment.
Specifications & Regulations
Federal Regulations place a limit of a maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of household hazardous waste per vehicle. If you have more than this amount, you can still make multiple trips to our event to clean up the waste. Be aware that business waste is not accepted.
Household Hazardous Waste Items will be accepted for FREE. Items that will be accepted are electronic waste, paint and other hazardous waste items. Sharps (lancets and hypodermic needles) will also be accepted as long as they are stored in a secure container. The City will be advertising the event using the following methods: 1) As a flyer (see link above) in the upcoming La Habra Water Bill; 2) on the City website; and 3) through the City's text messaging notification list (click HERE to find out how to be added to the list).
