MARCH 2020 CONSTRUCTION ALERT
Listed below are active projects:
Whittier Boulevard/Hacienda Road Intersection Project:
The project has been awarded to PALP Inc. dba Excel Paving (Contractor). The traffic signal poles have been ordered and construction is anticipated to begin in late April, 2020.
Splash Pad Park Improvement Project:
The Project started construction at both Brio Park and Oeste Park on December, 2019 and is ongoing with demolition, grading and installation of underground utilities. The project is anticipated to be completed in early May, 2020.
Residential Street Rehabilitation Project FY 2016-18 & Annual Water Main Replacement Program FY 2017-18:
This project rehabilitated various residential neighborhoods and upgrade several water mains, fire hydrants, and services throughout the City. Construction began in April, 2019 and was completed in November, 2019. Currently, the contractor is working on completing the punch list and staff anticipates filing a Notice of Completion at one of the April, 2020, City Council meetings.
Portola Park and Las Lomas Park Shade Structures FY 2019-20:
This project will provide shade structures over the Portola Park Playground and Las Lomas Park Exercise Equipment. Both parks are located off Euclid Street (Portola Park to the north of Lambert Road and Las Lomas Park to the south of Lambert Road). The project was awarded to Zimprich Engineering Inc. at the October 21, 2019 City Council meeting. The equipment has been ordered and construction is anticipated to start March, 2020. The project is anticipated to be completed in April, 2020.
La Habra Boulevard Rehabilitation Project from Beach Boulevard to Idaho Street:
This project consists of cold-milling, overlaying with new asphalt concrete pavement, reconstruction of concrete driveway approaches, sidewalk, curb and gutter. in addition, this project will add a Class II bike lane for both directions. The project has been awarded to R.J. Noble Company (Contractor) and started March, 2020. The Contractor is currently working on replacing concrete improvements. Construction is anticipated to be completed in late April, 2020.
Annual Sidewalk FY 2018-19:
This project includes concrete work improvements such as sidewalk, ADA curb ramp, driveway approach and curb & gutter. The project was awarded to EBS General Engineering, Inc. at the December 16, 2019 City Council meeting. The project started construction on February 10, 2020 and is moving along well. The project is anticipated to be completed in late March, 2020.
Imperial Highway Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program (RTSSP):
This project will synchronize the traffic signals on Imperial Highway, from the City of La Habra to the City of Yorba Linda, install CCTV cameras, fiber optic conduit and network equipment. The construction contract has been awarded to Crosstown. Staff anticipates beginning construction activities in early April, 2020.
Park La Habra & View Park Mobile Home Estates Improvements (Road):
This project includes street rehabilitation, cross gutter repairs and replacing speed bumps in both mobile home park communities. We provided comments on the 90% design plans and are currently awaiting the submittal of final design plans. Staff anticipates approval of those plans and advertising this project by the end of March, 2020.
Various Parking Lot Improvements, FY 2019-20:
This project includes parking lot rehabilitations, concrete work improvements such as ADA curb ramps, driveway approaches, sidewalk, and pavement striping and marking at Las Lomas Park and Loma Verde Park. This project has been advertised and the opening of bid has been scheduled for April 2, 2020.
Pavement Management Program 2021 Update:
This project has been awarded to Bucknam Infrastructure Group, Inc. The scope of work includes conducting a city wide survey of the existing public streets. The project is anticipated to be completed in Mid-April, 2021.
