Changing Exhibits

Two times a year our talented curatorial staff design, create and fabricate engaging exhibits in our Changing Gallery. Exhibit themed family workshops, performances and family art projects add to this exhibit experience.   

Time of Giants: Ice Age Animals  Sept. 27 - March 5, 2017

Giant Sloths, Woolly Mammoths and Saber-toothed Cats! These gigantic creatures seem to be the stuff of legend, but they were just doing what they could to survive. Take a trip back in time over 10,000 years to the Age of Mammals and explore in this interactive exhibit.

Ocean Zone March 28, 2017 - January 7, 2018

Our newest changing exhibit will take visitors deep in ocean waters to learn about the home of sharks, eels and jellies. Put on a scuba mask and explore our interactive exhibit featuring LIVE creatures of the sea. Learn about many different forms of sea life and how they adapt to each of the ocean’s mysterious “zones”.  Youngsters can put on a scuba mask and explore our interactive exhibit featuring LIVE creatures of the sea. Learn about many different forms of sea life and how they adapt to each of the ocean’s mysterious “zones”. Featured in this under-the-sea exhibit will be shark tank displaying mini shark families, Anemone & Jellyfish tanks, reef tanks with a multitude of live tropical species of fish, scavenger hunt area where kids will traverse the oceans of the world donning scuba goggles, and discover the Conservation Zone where kids will learn about ocean trouble zones and how they can help.  All this and more through January 7, 2018.
